Biography
Dr. Erin R. Houston is a native of Farrell, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems, with a minor in Business Administration from Gannon University, Erie, PA in 2005. In 2010, she received a Master of Science degree in Leadership with a concentration in Business Ethics from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. Erin graduated from the Instructional Management and Leadership Doctoral Program at Robert Morris University, Moon Township, PA in May 2015. Her dissertation was entitled “Faculty Perceptions of the Impact of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policies on Existing and New Faculty Hires: An Exploratory Case Study.”
Prior to serving in her current role as President and CEO of the Shenango Valley Urban League, Inc., Erin served eight years as Education Director at the organization overseeing youth programming, employment, human relations, and coordinating community outreach initiatives. In April 2013, Erin was selected by the Shenango Valley and Lawrence County Chambers of Commerce as a 40 Under Forty nominee and was featured as an up-and-coming young business leader in the Mercer-Lawrence Business Chronicle.
She is a member of the Epsilon Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Youngstown, OH.
